ABOUT The Unitatis String Composition Workshop 2019 (USCW2019) is a 2 day workshop open to any composers wishing to learn, take risks, and advance their writing specifically for stringed instruments. Writing for strings is difficult when you’re not a string player. We aim to help composers gain more insight into understanding the different challenges faced when writing for string players/string ensembles; challenges that they may not meet with any other instruments.
The USCW is devoted to the development of music education, and we are dedicated to providing equal opportunity to musicians who seek to further their careers. USCW is taking place on August 17-18 2019; we are accepting up to 9 participating composers, and 10 auditors.
CODE OF CONDUCT The USCW2019 does not tolerate any form of discrimination, harassment, destructive and oppressive behaviours. Participants and auditors must be open to giving and accepting CONSTRUCTIVE criticism, as this workshop is a place for learning and growing as a musician.
Anyone asked to stop unacceptable behaviour will be expected to comply immediately or they will be asked to leave.
USCW would like to acknowledge the CMC and thank Matthew Fava for his continued support of the workshop.
